North Cornwall Shooting Ground 20/5/23

It was glorious weather at North Cornwall today - we've been absolutely spoilt!

However, the bright conditions and playful breeze blowing from behind didn't make it easy.

My Invictus III and Super Comps combo never missed a beat though - all lost points were definitely operator error!

The workhorse ready for the trip home.

These are brilliant - smooth on the shoulder, and devastating to clay targets!

I've had a battle with Dave Sleeman all day, and going into the last round he was 4 points ahead after I had a dodgy spell in round 3.

I needed him to have some second barrels, and he was kind enough to oblige - though I don't think he really wanted to!

We ended up sharing the High Gun spot with 98/287 each.

Considering how nice the weather was, I think that's a little short of par, but something was throwing us off and I haven't figured out what it was yet.

But rather than waste too much time and brain power on that, I should switch my focus to my first big shoot of this year at Fauxdegla next week, which I'm really looking forward to.

It's the 3-day DTL Grand Prix, and is the closest thing we now have to the Krieghoff DTL as it was.

I can't wait!

Thanks to Simon, Andy, and Albert for running the shoot today, and well shot to all class winners.

Especially young Matt Rowland, who I found out today has made it into the England Juniors DTL Team along with 3 other new junior caps, and will be heading over to Ireland in July for his first international duty.

Also well shot to fellow South West shooters Barny Jackson and Richard Ryan who have both earned their first England DTL Team caps this year.

I'll be rooting for you, and the rest of the England team!
